Faversham: A New Day festival returns to Hernehill with Slade, Uriah Heep and Dr Feelgood among others

Kent online 23.8.2017:

"They brought us one of the most familiar Christmas tunes of all time, but 70s rockers Slade will be rocking the summertime sounds in Kent this weekend.

The flamboyant band, who have had 23 Top 20 singles, six No.1 hits and six albums, with hits including Cum On Feel The Noize and Coz I Luv You, over the last 30 years, headline A New Day Festival near Faversham this weekend.

Thousands flocked to the vast grounds of Mount Ephraim last year for the stunning live music line-up courtesy of the first A New Day Festival..."

The 68-year-old from Wolverhampton will appear at An Audience With Jim Lea at the Robin 2, where a recording of his first solo gig at the venue back in 2002 will be shown.

At 1pm the first official showing of For One Night Only will take place, with a Q and A session with Jim from 2.30pm. The movie will be officially released on October 23.

The film is a recording of Jim's first solo show, which took place at The Robin 2 in November 2002 - the gig was called Jim Jam.

'Slade At The BBC' TV programme replay on BBC4 at 1.30am 6.8.2017

"Don your best platforms and sequinned hat and join Noddy, Jim, Dave and Don aka Slade for a trip down memory lane as we uncover some of Slade's finest appearances from the vaults of the BBC archive, introduced by none other than Noddy Holder himself.

Rock out to the classics of Coz I Luv You, Mama Weer All Crazee Now, Gudbuy T'Jane and Cum On Feel the Noize and see how Slade's all-important look evolves after their first TV appearance on the BBC back in 1969. Most performances come from their 70s heyday and from BBC studio shows like Top of the Pops, Crackerjack, Blue Peter and Cheggers Plays Pop.

Noddy both introduces the compilation and reflects on Slade's glory daze at the BBC."
